New “Display Name (First Name)” Feature

Based on subscriber feedback, a new “Display Name (First Name)” field was added between the existing “Name” and “Email” fields on the new Pro Dashboard’s “Profile > Contact Information” page.  

If a subscriber enters their display name in this new field, it will be displayed across various MLSListings applications (e.g., Salesforce, legacy/new Pro sites, www.mlslistings.com) in lieu of their legal first name. Their last name will stay the same.

UPDATED: June 22, 2023

  • The help text below the “Display Name” field was updated to elaborate on the proper use of this field:
"You can enter a display name here. This will be displayed instead of your legal first name on all MLSListings applications. The purpose of a display name is to use a more familiar name, such as a nickname, instead of your legal name. You cannot use a brand or team name as your display name."

  • The maximum character length for the “Display Name” field on Pro > Profile is now set to 40.
  • The “Display Name” field on Pro > Profile will not allow any special characters (except spaces) or numbers.
  • The “Display Name (First Name)” field in Pro > Profile will not display after a user impersonates as a team, because it is not a valid use case
