LM: Smart Drafts FAQ

Where does the information come from?
The information is what MLSListings has on file for the property.

Do agents have to use Smart Draft?
No, you don’t have to use this feature.  Similar to importing Realist Data to a listing, you can click on it or  choose to enter the listing manually.

What happens after the fields have been imported?
Agents must go through and verify that each field imported is still relevant to today’s version of the property.  If an imported field is no longer relevant, they need to click on the  to remove the field. In the example below, click on the –  icon located next to Updated Bath to remove that field.

What if a field is missing, can agents still add fields manually?
Yes, the agent can add any field anytime.  In the example below, Living Room has been added under fireplace.  Since Living Room was manually added, it is not highlighted in yellow:

Do all properties qualify for the Smart Draft option?
No, only properties that have been sold in the last 10 years in MLSListings system (Listing numbers starting with "ML") may qualify.  If there is not enough data in MLSListings System, the button will not appear.  Based on testing, roughly 50% of new listings qualify for Smart Draft.

Will all classes have the Smart Draft option?
No, only class 1 (residential), class 2 (res income), class 4 (res lots and land), and class 5 (res lease/rental).  Mobile homes and commercial properties do NOT have this feature.

What happens when the agent submits the listing?
Once their draft becomes a live listing, the fields are no longer highlighted in yellow when updating the listing.

Can the agent come back and make changes to their draft?  Are there any restrictions?
Agents can come back anytime and modify their draft.  The imported fields will always be highlighted in yellow as long as the listing remains in draft mode.

Once the listing is published, can the agent modify it?
Yes, published Smart Draft listings can be modified just like a manually entered listing.
