MLSListings Joins NorCal MLS Alliance – Launching January 20, 2021

Executive Summary

MLSListings today
announced our participation in the NorCal MLS Alliance, a data share collaborative which will conveniently give our subscribers greater access to listing data for all major Northern California counties via Matrix. The NorCal MLS Alliance launches on January 20, 2021.

Introducing the NorCal MLS Alliance

The seven leading MLSs in Northern California, including MLSListings, announced the creation of the NorCal MLS Alliance – a data share collaborative which will ensure real estate professionals in Northern California have the greatest access to MLS data in and near the areas they do business.

By building on our collaborative history of data sharing initiatives, the NorCal MLS Alliance will provide brokers and agents with a single set of listing data that will cover most of Northern California – from the Bay Area to the Central Valley to the crest of the Sierra Mountains.

To MLSListings subscribers, this means we are adding San Francisco, North Bay, and Central Valley counties to the data share that you currently enjoy with the East Bay, enabling you to enter listings and search data covering more than 28,000 square miles and 22 Northern California counties, reaching over 55,000 real estate professionals serving a population of more than 11.5 million people.

The NorCal MLS Alliance launches on January 20, 2021.

Convenient Access via Matrix for MLSListings Subscribers

There are three different MLS systems that serve the seven MLSs in the NorCal MLS Alliance: Matrix (CoreLogic), Paragon (Black Knight), and Rapattoni. Each MLS has thousands of agents using their system. We realize that changing systems is very disruptive to the agents we serve, so to avoid disruption, we set up the NorCal MLS Alliance so that each of the three systems has all of the data in their respective data base.

MLSListings subscribers will be able to seamlessly access this new, larger set of data via Matrix, your home system, without having to change to a different and unfamiliar system (i.e., no more switching systems from Matrix to Paragon to Rapattoni). Agents will continue to use exactly the same system they are accustomed to, but with substantially more listing data from a much wider geography.

Benefits to Brokers and Agents

For years, we’ve heard from brokers that they wanted all their data in their familiar home MLS system. The NorCal MLS Alliance is a major step towards eliminating multiple places to go for data and providing brokers and agents with a single place to get it.

Some important benefits of the NorCal MLS Alliance include the following:

  • This is the ONLY place where you can get all the listings and historical data in 22 Northern California counties while continuing to utilize the MLS technology of your home system -- allowing you to concentrate on your business without having to learn a new system for expanded data-access.
  • Eliminates the need for dual entry of listings into multiple systems, saving time and money.
  • Reduce the number of data feeds (including IDX) that you need to receive to run your business, saving you both time and money. (Coming in a future release.)
  • Reduced costs and programming for your vendors who receive data today from multiple sources to serve your business needs. In addition, receiving a single data feed will eliminate issues related to duplicate listings and inaccurate data reporting. (Coming in a future release.)

In Addition to Existing Data Shares

Along with the NorCal MLS Alliance, MLSListings currently maintains data share agreements with numerous other MLSs throughout the state of California.

Upon completion of the NorCal MLS Alliance, MLSListings will be providing our subscribers with property listing data for over 30 counties in the Golden State – and counting.
