Since MLSListings has implemented the NAR initiative called the Clear Cooperation Policy (CCP) the Compliance department enforces the rules for violations. There are unique characteristics of this rule however, that require additional steps to investigate a violation.
Under the rule, any residential listing that is marketed to the public must be listed on the MLS by the end of the next business day.
If a property is marketed to the public but is not listed on the MLS, it may be a violation of the CCP rule.
To investigate such a violation, our Compliance department needs to be able to document the marketing being done on the property.
Should you become aware of a possible CCP violation, you can follow these steps to notify the MLS:
- Document the marketing you have observed for the property. If the marketing is a “For Sale” or “Coming Soon” sign on the property, take a photo showing the sign in front of the house/property. Where possible, it should include the street number showing on the house. Use this form or email the information to compliance@mlslistings.com
- If there is an email or flyer other electronic promotion, use this form or forward the content to compliance@mlslistings.com. Ideally this would show the property address, and the listing agent information responsible for the marketing
Once we have this information, our Compliance team will be able to investigate the situation and take the appropriate action.
All reports remain anonymous.
