How to Report a Violation for Clear Cooperation

If a property is marketed, promoted or advertised to the public by an MLSListings subscriber but is not listed on the MLS, it may be a violation of the NAR Clear Cooperation Policy (CCP) and MLS rules. Under the Clear Cooperation rules, any listing that is advertised or promoted to the public must be listed on the MLS by the end of the next business day.

Should you become aware of a possible CCP violation, here are the reporting options. Please note that your information will remain confidential.

  • Use the online form below or email the property information to compliance@mlslistings.com
  • If you are driving by a house and see a sign in the yard but cannot find it on the MLS, please send in a photo with a short description or use this online form
  • Important! It is necessary to submit documentation of the marketing you have observed for the property. If the marketing is a “For Sale” sign on the property a photo is critical to the enforcement, showing the sign in front of the house/property. Where possible, it should include the street number showing on the house. If it is a flyer, email or postcard please submit an electronic copy as evidence for compliance enforcement.

Note: If the property is being marketed as “Coming Soon” in an email, flyer or sign, please check the Members Only section on our Pro site to see if it is listed there. There is no violation if the property is advertised as Coming Soon and posted on MLS as Coming Soon.

Once we have this information, our Compliance team will be able to investigate the situation and take the appropriate action.

If there are questions or you need assistance please call 408-874-0200 option #2 or email compliance@mlslistings.com.
