How to list a property for sale and for rent.
The answer is Yes, you can list a property both For Sale as well as For Rent.
Important tip
When entering in the For Rent Listing, please make sure to remove the APN/Parcel. Unlike a property For Sale where APN/.Parcel is a required field, the APN/Parcel is NOT a required field in Rental listings (See examples below).
For Sale
For Rent
If the parcel number is included in the For Rent listing, you will not be able to create the listing. The system will give you an error message saying "Another active listing already exist with this parcel". Not having the parcel number in the rental listing will eliminate this error and allow you to create the listing.
Also just an FYI - Zillow does not pull rentals from us. See information below.
As of June 2023, Zillow has advised MLSListings that they will no longer be pulling rental listings from our MLS systems. Per Zillow Support they have advised us the following on getting a rental property on their system.
From Zillow Support
All rental listings displayed on Zillow will need to be published through.
Zillow Feed Connect – https://www.zillow.com/z/rental-property-advertising/listing-feeds/
or
Zillow Rental Manager- https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/
A newly executed contract will be required for all Zillow Feed Connect partners before posting a rental listing. Brokers and agents can contact our rentals team at https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/submit-request to discuss their options.
