Why are there strange characters in my Public or Private Remarks
When you copy and paste your remarks from a word processing application (like MS Word), it will most likely show up in the public or private remarks section with unintended characters.
Example:
“NEWLY REMODELED with quality stylish finishes including new kitchen cabinets, new appliances, luxuryÃÂ vinyl flooring, and a new front door. The living/family room has a fireplace and a light-filled largeÃÂ window to the patio. A dining room with a new sliding door opens to the patio to enjoy the CaliforniaÃÂ outdoorÃÂ lifestyle. The attached 2 car garage provides abundantÃÂ storage and laundry. Easy commute access to Hwy. 280, Apple, Netflix, Intel and other high-techÃÂ companies. HOA amenitiesÃÂ include common area green space, pool & clubhouse.”
These are formatting artifacts.
To avoid seeing these unintended additional characters:
- Copy the text of your remarks from the word processing application.
- In the Public or Private Remarks section of your listing
- Right click, and chose “Paste as plain text” from the menu.
To remove formatting artifacts that currently show in your listing:
- Either delete the existing remarks, and replace them using the above technique.
- Copy the text of your remarks from the Public or Private Remarks section.
- Paste them into a text editor (like NotePad)
- Remove the unwanted artifacts.
- Copy the clean text.
- Paste it into the appropriate Remarks section.
