Broker access to IDX/MLS Data
IDX is a system in which brokers give each other permission to display their listings on each others website. Brokers who participate in the program (“opt in”) may display each others active listings, which will be identified by a special IDX logo. If a broker elects not to participate (“opt out”), then their listings will not be distributed to other brokers and they will not be permitted to display other brokers’ listings on their websites.
As the broker of record you have several options to have MLS data on your website:
1) Contact an approved IDX vendor and use their service to have MLS data on your website.
2) Sign up and pay for a full IDX website through MLSListings. Simply visit pro.mlslistings.com, click on "Support" then Pro Support Community there you will click on Data/IDX. We offer a variety of packages to choose from.
3) Our MLS data is also accessible through an industry standard RETS (Real Estate Transaction Standard) data server. You may choose to sign up for a raw RETS data feed where you pull raw MLS data off of our RETS server onto your own server, then use that data to populate to your own website. This method is very technical. You will need to have an extensive networking and engineering background. This method allows you or your web developer to create your own customized MLS search page. Then you can pull the raw MLS data to populate that page. For RETS technical information, please visit www.reso.org where you can download the technical specification for the different versions of RETS (1.5, 1.7, and 1.7.2). Please note that MLSListings is currently RETS 1.7.2 compliant.
Please note, MLSListings now offers an IDX+ option that includes listings from our data share partners, which currently include three MLSs in the East Bay and CRMLS, the biggest MLS in southern California, with two more MLSs scheduled to be added this summer.
If you wish to get more information on obtaining a RAW RETS data feed please send a detail email to data@mlslistings.com
